| PSCB Inter CPSU Kabaddi Tournament 2010 kick starts | | |

CHANDIGARH , June 17: A three day Inter - CPSU Kabaddi Tournament 2010 commenced here today at Sports Complex, Sector-42, Chandigarh.
About seven teams from various CPSUs are participating in this tournament. The participating teams are Power Grid Corporation Of India Ltd (POWERGRID), Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Ministry Of Power (MOP), Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), National Hydro Electric Power Corporation Limited (NHPC), Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB)and Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (SJVNL). The tournament is being organized by POWERGRID.
The participating teams have been divided into two Pools "A" and "B".While BBMB, NHPC , REC and MOP are in Pool "A", hosts POWERGRID alongwith SJVNL and CEA are in Pool "B" The matches in the tournament shall be conducted on league cum knockout basis. In the Pool matches league system shall be followed and two top teams from each pool shall go to the semi-finals where Winner of Pools "A" shall take on Runnerup of Pool "B". Similarly Winner of Pools "B" shall take on Runnerup Pool "A". The tournament began today with a grand opening with colourful march pasts and local cultural items including Bangra stealing the show. It is pertinent to mention here that the tournament was inaugurated by Sh. Surinder Paul , Chief Engineer UT Administration in the presence of Shri Roop Chand, Regional Labour commissioner, Sh. Amarjit , Additional General Manager (POWERGRID) , and other officials of POWERGRID and other CPSUs. The inaugural match was played between hosts POWERGRID and CEA. POWERGRID Won the match with the score 37-26. In the other two matches, BBMB trounced REC 51-14 wheras NHPC got better of MOP 24-21.
