Antony to visit Ladakh, Siachen Glacier | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 17: Defence minister A K Antony is scheduled to visit Ladakh and Siachen Glacier on his two-day visit to the state next week. He would arrive at Ladakh on June 21 and fly back to New Delhi on June 22, official sources said. Inspecting an IAF advanced landing ground on the Sino-Indian border would be high on his agenda, the sources added. This would be Antony's first visit to the Nyoma Advanced Landing Ground, just 23 km from the borders with China, that was activated last year. At Nyoma, in south-eastern Ladakh region, Antony would first do an aerial survey of the ALG and later land there to see first hand the infrastructure that had come up, sources said. One of the thrust areas of the minister's visit is to raise the living standards of troops including quality of food at Siachen, the sources added.
