This was decided in a meeting of Jammu Mahanagar BJP held under the leadership of district president Rajesh Gupta. Gupta, while addressing the meeting said that the coming days would witness different events in different parts of Jammu district to be organised to commemorate the great sacrifice of Shyama Prasad Mookerjee. He said, "Mokerjee was neither born in our state nor he had any relation here but his duty and commitment towards Mother India did not let him rest till the Permit System was not abolished and the state had one flag and one constitution like other states of the country. He was also opposed to the post of a separate Prime Minister and it was his firm pledge to fight against all such provisions and clauses which granted a special status to the state." He further alleged that Mookerjee sacrificed his life for the national cause in the state and it becomes our moral duty to reach the masses and educate them about the cause for which Mookerjee even left the berth of Cabinet Minister in the then Nehru's Union government and opted to work for full integration of J&K with the rest of the country. Gupta said that a blood sampling and donation camp would be organised on June 23 and like wise many programmes would be organised in the district with a sole motive of spreading the message of Mookerjee.
