CII applauds Slathia for extension of VAT | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 18: As a part of an incentive to promote the MSME's in Jammu and Kashmir, the government had made provisions to refund the VAT on raw material purchased through SICOP effective till March 31.In a representation to S. S Slathia Minister for Industries and Commerce, CII recommended that the incentive needed to be further extended till GST regime was rolled out pan India.The governments vide SRO - 146 dated March 31, 2010 via Government order No 109 IND of 2010 on 7th June, 2010 has extended the period of incentive till 31st March, 2011 by when the GST would be effective across India. Vicky Mahajan, Chairman CII J&K, State Council, in a statement said that the prompt action of Slathia in extending the incentive by issuing the SRO has send a very strong signal that the government is committed to the growth of MSME's in the State.
