Tata Indicom covers new 62 villages, cater 60,000 customers | | |
EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 18: Tata Teleservices Limited, country's youngest and fastest-growing dual-technology telecom service provider, today announced extension of its CDMA mobile telephony services under the brand-name Tata Indicom to Jammu and Kashmir's Doda & Bhadarwah district, thereby increasing its network footprint considerably and bringing 62 more villages within its fold thus serving to a population of about 60000. Customers in Doda & Bhadarwah, can now experience the complete range of Tata Teleservices Limited's wireless services including Walky, Mobile and Photon, wide range of handsets, bill deposits, Customer services etc-with this launch, TTSL now covers 127 towns in the Jammu & Kashmir telecom circle. "Our objective is to reach out to our rural customers in the state and provide them with products and services that are best-in-class and easily available. We are confident that with our service quality on one of the best telecom networks in the country, we will continue to empower our subscribers and enable them to connect to the world," Atul Kansal, Chief Operating Officer Tata Teleservices Limited's CDMA operations in Jammu & Kashmir, said. "Going forward we are planning to expand our network footprint in other districts which includes 23 more villages, for a seamless telecom experience across Jammu & Kashmir," he added. To complement the launch of its services in Doda and Bhadarwah, Tata Teleservices Limited also announced a special 'Local Unlimited Offer', under which pre-paid customers will be able to make unlimited free local calls on the Tata Indicom network for a whole month. Local calls to other networks will be charged at 50 paise per minute, while STD calls can be made at Rs 1.50 per minute. The offer is available to both existing and potential pre-paid customers at a monthly recharge of Rs 125, without any extra charges.
