Ex-servicemen rally held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, June 18: Under the aegis of Brigadier (retd) R.S Langeh, Director Sainik Welfare Department, Lt Col Man Singh Jamwal (retd), Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, Udhampur along with C.D Singh, head assistant and ex-Subedar, Jagdev Singh Chib, Welfare Organiser visited Ransoo in connection with welfare activities of ex-servicemen and widows. A large number of Ex-servicemen/widows to include Capt Krishan Singh, Capt Dev Raj, Hav Rishi Ram etc, from far flung area of Ransoo i.e Laiter, Teryath, Bharakh, Pouni, Bhambla and Dadowa were present on the occasion. The Zila Sainik Welfare Officer spoke on various concessions and welfare schemes extended by the Central/State Government for the welfare of ex-servicemen/widows. He apprised ex-servicemen and widows the importance of joint notification for family pension and publication of Part II orders, Prime Minister Scholarship schemes for the wards of ex-servicemen/widows, Daughter's marriage grant, demise grant, ADLR Scheme, relief to ex-J&K Militia personnel who have discharged at their own request/on medical grounds and to non-pensioners. The officer also stressed on all present to become members of ECHS under which complete medical coverage is provided to the pensioners/widows as well as their dependents.While speaking on the occasion, Col Jamwal assured the ex-servicemen/widows that he will look into their genuine demands and will provide every possible help to them. This tournament held under the supervision of organizing secretary, Gulzar Ahmed, general secretary District Srinagar Korfball Association.
