SANGALDAN (gool), june 18 : Terming National Conference led coalition regime as total failure, general secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Thakur Balbir Singh called upon party workers to launch a war against this anti-people government. Addressing one-day convention of party card holders at Sangaldan in Gool area, he lamented that people in most parts of Jammu region were facing starvation owing to non availability of food grains in far-flung areas. Flaying the government for adopting non-serious attitude towards the woes of common people who were almost at the verge of starvation because of non-availability of food grains, he said the authorities seemed unconcerned about their responsibilities "Instead of solving problems of the people the ruling elite are more concerned about cheap politics, he regretted. "Since January 5, 2009 when Omar Abdullah has taken over as Chief Minister of the State, problems of the common people have been increasing", he observed. He exhorted party workers to launch a war on this anti-people dispensation. "Failure of the government can be gauged from the fact that farmers, employees, technocrats, jobless youth and students have been agitating day in and day out for redress of their grievances but the government has turned blind eye towards solving their problems", he said. Speaking on the occasion, senior party leader and MLC Sayed Asghar Ali called upon party workers to educate the masses about the revolutionary steps taken by Mufti Mohammed Sayeed during his tenure as Chief Minister of the State. On this occasion a prominent social activist Dharam Singh joined PDP and expressed full faith in the leadership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti. Abdul Ahad Wani, Shamshad Shan, Rajinder Singh Manhas, Mohammad Iqbal and others also spoke on the occasion. |
