| Kashmira Vahini assesses progress of Old Age Home complex | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU , June 19:A general body meeting of Kashmira Vaahini was held here today to review progress made in connection with the setting up of a mega project of Old Age Home and Cultural Complex in Jammu ..Kashmira Vahini members resolved to redouble their efforts in coming months to ensure proper monitoring and follow up action of progress made. A fifteen member working group at national level was constituted consisting of Architects, Philanthropists, Engineers, Doctors, Social and religious activists, artists, lawyers and the like for speedy execution of the mega projects. A penal of directors and patrons of international repute was also finalized. This old age home will go a long way in mitigating the sufferings of the old, infirm and the victims of apathy from their loved ones in the evening of their life.
In the meeting office bearers of Kashmira Vahini were also elected. Smt. Kirti Kalla was elected as Patron, Prof.Rama Shah chairperson, Smt Sudesha Koul as Chief Area Co-ordinator, Smt Sunita Santoshi as General Secretary, Smt Nirmala Tickoo as Cultural Secretary, Smt. Vijaya Saproo as Publicity Secretary, Smt Sushma Reshi as national treasurer, Smt Neelam Koul as organizing secretary and Smt Khema Koul as national spokesperson. A twenty-one member national executive council was also elected in the said meeting.
Smt Kirti Kalla, while appreciating the role of Kashmira Vahini since its inception reiterated that Kashmira Vaahini will redouble its efforts to spread awareness amongst Kashmiri Pandit women about their geo-political rights and will organize resistance movement against cultural genocide and historical distortion unleashed in a systematic and organized way against KPs in exile.
Kashmira Vahini decided to hold a series of programs in coming months. It was decided to hold first ever All India Women's Conference on 26 Dec.2010 in Jammu. Likewise KASHMIRA DEVI Maha-yagya first of its kind in history will also be performed in near future .
