Dy CM inaugurates mega conference on Gandhian philosophy

SRINAGAR, June 19: Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand inaugurated four-day-long National level summit on Gandhian thoughts and doctrine of non-violence here today. The conference has been organized by Gandhi Global Family (GGF) in collaboration with J&K Scouts and Guides Association. The scholars of International and National repute from all corners of the country attended the conference and expressed their opinion on different aspects of humanity, love and brotherhood.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said that it was Mahatma Gandhi who got freedom for the country from the clutches of the British through non-violence, adding that the world has recognized the doctrine of non-violence propounded by the great leader and has attained universal strength. He said that all the scholars of the world acknowledge that solution of all kinds of turmoil's and disturbances is concept of love, amity and strong belief in human approach. He said that when the subcontinent was burning under the frenzy of communal violence, Jammu and Kashmir kindled the hope of National Integration, was appreciated by Mahatma Gandhi at that time.
He said his strong belief in truth provided new direction to the political system prevailing in the world. The popularity achieved by Mahatma Gandhi as a result of his principles of life has become guiding chapter for all of us. Tara Chand lamented all those forces, who are bent upon dividing the people in the name of religion, region and caste with evil design to spread hatred.
