Blackmarketing of ration alleged in Rajouri | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT RAJOURI, June 19: Blackmarketing of BPL ration has been alleged by the officials of consumer affairs and public distribution department (CAPD) in Palma and Samote villages of the district.Residents of Palma alleged that CAPD officials had shifted their store from Nagrota to Palma in a private shop from where they were selling the BPL ration in black. Bansi Lal alleged that CAPD officials were not supplying ration to the needy people and had been selling it to shopkeepers. CAPD assistant director, Rajouri, Kewal Krishan, however, refuted the allegations, claiming them to be false and fabricated. He said no CAPD official was involved in blackmarketing of BPL ration at Palma and claimed that the allegations were being levelled by two rival political groups. Meanwhile, the Samote residents alleged that some dealers were selling government ration in the black. They also raised slogans against CAPD department and tehsildar, Kotranaka. Mohammad Sayeed alleged that Samote was not getting adequate quantity of ration. Kewal Krishan, however, said the protest at Samote was not against CAPD. People were demanding enhancement of the ration scale and there was no complaint of blackmarketing of ration from the area, he claimed.
