HC stays shifting of pharmacist from GMC Jammu | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 19: The high court today directed the Government Medical College Jammu authorities not to relieve a pharmacist from his present place of posting till further orders. The petitioner Rajinder Singh whose son was abducted and killed by militants left the Valley to save his life. The petitioner filed a representation which has been processed by Commissioner / Secretary Health & Medical Education Dept. The petitioner was shifted from Srinagar to Jammu on account of the failure and delay caused by respondent in deciding the case of the petitioner and respondents on the basis of communication January 20, 2010 forcing the petitioner to join at Govt Medical College Srinagar whereas the petitioner had foregone his promotion to the post of Senior Pharmacist in GMC Srinagar. Yet Suerintendent GMC Jammu and his deputy were taking steps to relieve him from present place of posting where he had been adjusted pursuant to the orders of the competent authority keeping in view his family's safety. Justice JP Singh (Vacation Judge) issued notice to State of Jammu Kashmir through Commissioner/Secretary Health & Medical Education, Principal GMC Jammu, Principal GMC Srinagar, Medical Supt GMC Jammu and Deputy Medical Supt GMC Jammu and directed the respondents that the petitioner shall not be relieved from his present place of posting, until further orders from Court. This direction, however, shall be subject to his filing an undertaking of having foregone his promotion to the post of Senior Pharmacist in GMC Srinagar with the respondents within a week. --- (JNF)
