Congress workers celebrate Rahul Gandhi's birthday

JAMMU, June 19: Congress workers today celebrated the party General Secretary Rahul Gandhi's 40th birthday with fanfare by dancing to the drumbeats, raising slogans and bursting firecrackers outside their headquarters here.
Although Rahul Gandhi was not in town, it did not dampen the spirits of the workers, as they expressed their desire to see him as the next Prime Minister of the country.
"Rahal Gandhi has turned 40 today. Today he has completed 1000 days in Congress party and he has done so much work for the country in these 1000 days, which no other politician can do in even 40,000 days," said, a supporter.
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee celebrated the birthday of Rahul Gandhi at party headquarters here by organizing a simple function attended by senior leaders and workers of the party. Sweets and Cake were distributed among the partymen and they wished him a long life.
The PCC leaders said that Rahul Gandhi is the future of the nation and the countrymen especially the youth of the country have great expectations from the young and dynamic leader. The partymen prayed for his long life and wished him great success.
National Student Union of India also celebrated the Rahul's birthday by distributing fruits and cakes among orphans in Bal Niketan, Ved Mandir, Ambphalla.
A programme was organised in Bal Niketan where NSUI activists distributed fruits and a birthday cake was cut.
The program was organised by state general secretary Varun Magotra while Arjun Singh Pathania, state general secretary and in charge Jammu district coordinated.
Speaking on the occasion, Varun Magotra said that it had been pleasure while celebrating birth anniversary of one who is hope of youth. He added that he had been leader of all the sections of society but youth particularly has hopes upon him.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, former minister was chief guest on the occasion while ex-Mayor Jammu city, Narinder Singh was guest of honour.
Pathania while addressing the gathering said that it had been the duty of Rahul's cadre to take lessons from him and come out with their resources to help such part of society, as Rahul could not reach every house of every poor.
Meanwhile, the 40th birthday of Rahul was celebrated by All India Rahul Gandhi Fans Association at Jehlem Resorts where a huge gathering of people from all corners of life were present and a large number of children also participated in the party to celebrate the birthday of Rahul Gandhi.
M.S.Khan was the guest of honour on the day and all responsible dignitaries and working body members were present at the party.
The birthday was celebrated with great enthusiasm and M Sultan, state president with M S Khan National Vice President marked the beginning of function by cutting cake, unique in its seize and weight. The gifts among the children were distributed by Prof M. Sultan and M.S.Khan, the message of love and affection to strengthen the hands of Rahul Gandhi by celebrating his birthday.
