BFS discusses plight of OBC in J&K | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 19: The Central Executive Committee of Backward federation of India (BFS) in a meeting today at Vishwakarma Sabha complex Digiana, under the President ship of Advocate Ashok Kumar Basotra discussed the plight of OBC's in the state. In the meeting Central Executive Committee of BCFI took serious note of the fact that the congress alliance govt. at the centre and congress-NC collation govt. in the state have betrayed the people belonging to Backward Class as the promise by these Govts. Before coming into power to fulfill the demands but has not been fulfilled till date. As per press release the demands are to enhance reservation quota of O.B. Cs from meager 2% to 27% as per supreme court judgment issue single OBC Certificate forever, applicable in J&K State as well as other States and central government jobs/institutions. To amend The Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Act, 2004 and the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Rules, 2005 to the extent that section 2(0), 6&9 of the said Act defining "Socially & Educationally Backward Classes" and Rules 4,9 (III), 13(III) and 15(C ) of said rules providing unconstitutional reservation to "Residents of Backward Area" and "Actual Line of Control" are declared illegal and unconstitutional, thus quashed and to remove " creamy layer embargo" from O.B.C reservation. Member also demanded to include the remaining castes, from the list of J&K O.B.Cs as per Mandal Commission Report, into the present list of O.B,C s i.e. Annexure- "D" to S.R.O. 249:- Prominent among the speakers who also spoke were Nek Ram Dofara, Ajit Kumar, Vashishnth , Bishan Dass , Purshotam Kumar Chand, Kukhtiar Kalia, Sarwan Kumar Kundal, Bansi Lal Chargotra, Garu Singh Shiklingir, Anil Salgorta, K.C Verma, Madan Lal Pandey, Sati Ram Yadav, Ravinder Kumar Roy, Gopal Parsad Mandal, Rattan Lal, K.K. Sodhi and Deepak Kumar Fotra. |
