| BJP denounces power cuts | | | Early Times Report
Jammu , June 19 : In a press statement BJP State General Secretary Sat Sharma (C.A) has strongly criticized the government for imposing massive power cuts and its erratic supply. He stated that after recent steep increase in power tariff by the PDD, there is no justification for power cut. Instead of improving power supply after hiking the power tariff, the hapless consumers are left to battle with oppressive summer heat. This speaks for total mismanagement and miss-governance in power department under coalition rule, he added. . Sharma said that this was another instance of subjecting Jammuites to callous and harsh treatment. On the one hand power department imposed arbitrary power tariff and on the other hand erratic and irregular power was supplied to consumers creating difficulties for them in sizzling heat... He cited that students, sick persons, old patients in hospitals and house wives were the worst affected by power scarcity. Students are unable to prepare themselves for competitive exams generally held at this time of the year. Previously the government took shelter behind the pretext that people did not pay electric fee and therefore had to suffer power cuts. |
