Dilapidated Dablehar road, consuming lives, economy | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT R. S Pura, June 19: Despite the tall claims of the state government to provide road connectivity to the rural population in different part of state, there are many villages in hilly as well as at plain areas which have dilapidated roads not repaired for many years. Seven and half kilometer road stretch from Jammu R.S Pura main road to Dablehar in R.S Pura Tehsil meant for providing road connectivity to thousands of people of Panchayat Dablehar, Kalyana, Rathana, Mago-wali,Chak Mohammad Yar, Jindral, Salehar, Kirpind, Khor, and Pauyan besides other adjoining villages. Road is also of strategic importance because it is connected to zero line on the International Border (IB). Locals maintained that the road constructed by General Reserve Engineering Force (GREF) under Union Ministry of Defence, wa s very important for people as it was the lifeline to many villages and serve many Panchayat and contribute tremendously for their economical development. Locals also alleged that they were facing many problems because of the poor condition of the road; road was constructed ten years back and repaired many times. But each time low quality material was used, which resulted in further ruination of road. Because of dilapidated condition of road, road accident occurred including two bus accident resulting losses of lives and economy. When contacted MLA Suchetgarh, Sham Choudhary said that road would be constructed almost within two months as proposal has been sent to Union Government and was accepted recently. He also said that he had raised the issue many times with concerned departments. Minister for Road and Building Ghulam Mohammad Saroori on his visit to area assured for early construction of road.
