Talks inconclusive as Council staff continues strike
6/21/2010 11:04:21 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 21: The scheduled meeting between the representatives of the striking employees of J&K State Sports Council and the Minister for Sports, R S Chib remained inconclusive at Srinagar today resulting into the Council staff continued strike for the 13th day today.
"Since the Minister was in hurry to meet the Chief Minister, he could not spare enough of time to hold detailed discussions. So, we are expecting another round of meeting tomorrow," president J&K State Sports Council Employees Association, Vikramjeet Singh told.
However, it has been reliably learnt that the Minister was adamant on his stand asking the striking employees to first call off their strike and then hold discussions, which, otherwise, was unacceptable to the representatives of the agitating employees of the autonomous sports body in the state.
When asked about the ongoing strike, Vikramjeet said, "The strike will continue tomorrow."
