Ashiyana Holding out hope for victims of Militancy

Ashiyana (relief house), a non-governmental centre for rehabilitation of orphans is caring for near about thirty children with the mission to make their future prosperous one day.

"We are caring for thirty inmates who are effected due to ongoing trouble in Jammu and Kashmir from last twenty years and are trying our best to provide them better meals and facilities and education with the hope that one day they will also live in the mainstream of the society with our heads held high, said Sanjeev Parihar Chairman Social Reform and Charitable Organisation an NGO said while taking with ET . Parihar is also running a educational institution Sewa Ram Memorial institute where these intimates of Ashyana and other below poverty line are been given education up to eighth class free of cost . He added that we are running orphanage on donations basis being received by members of NGO who provide help for running orphanage in the shape of pulses , sugar rice ,oil and other articles and the building of orphanage age has been constructed by army under operation Sadhbhavana

Ashyana a relief house is focusing on rehabilitation of orphans from Kishtwar District without looking into the cause of death of their husbands or parents. Children irrespective caste, color , creed and religion are living here altogether presenting a example of unity among diversity said Chairman of Ashyana


I wanted to join police force once I grew up to serve my society and nation said Tousaf of Kuntwara who is putting up at Ashyana from last three years after killing of his father by militants who was serving as SPO in J&K police . Tousaf has two sister and one brother who are putting up at village with her mother .Tousaf shown satisfaction with Ngo who care for orphans and said that they are having family like enviourment at Ashyana

Manjeet Singh from Thakraie village of Kishtwar is also putting up at Ashyana with other inmates and has same tale like Tousaf . Manjeet came at Ashyana three years back when his father was killed by militants in Dacchan area of kishtwar while combating militant s in 2002 .He said I want to join army so that take avenge of my father .

Most of the children at the rehabilitation centre on Shaheedi road Kishtwar have been admitted to a nearby school being run by NGO .Chairman Ashyana has received indo Thiland friendship and indo -Nepal friendship award in past and has been awarded with several other awards for his selfless service towards humanity
