VRS employees hold protest | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 21: State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) Volunteer Retirement Scheme (VRS) employees on Saturday held a protest against dilly dallying practice of concerned authorities in implementing their demands. The protest rally was led by Dev Raj Bali, Chairman All J and K SRTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association Jammu and Mohammad Yaseen General Secretary. They demanded two installments of Fifth Pay Commission pending since 1997 saying that the same was released to Jammu and Kashmir treasury but has not been paid to the employees. Protesters strongly criticized Additional Provident Fund Commissioner for not settling their CP Fund dues which have been deducted from the salaries of VRS employees, but not deposited by JKSRTC in the CP Fund account. They demanded that CP Fund Commissioner should recover the VRS CP Fund subscriptions with interest and the same be credited to the accounts of VRS employees at the earliest. They also appealed to the State Government to come to their rescue by conducting a vigilance enquiry into the matter i.e. the money which has been deducted from salaries of the VRS employees but has not been accounted for.
