| People cautioned not to go near Chenab banks | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 21: As per a notice issues by Chief Engineer, Baglihar H. E. Project, Chanderkote, the public and all concerned authorities are informed that testing of main spillway gates shall be carried out at Dam site of Baglihar project from 8 a.m. on 21st June, 2010 (Monday) to 6 p.m. on 23rd of June, 2010 (Wednesday). During this period, discharge water level in the River Chenab downstream of Baglihar Dam may suddenly increase or decrease due to operation of gates.
Therefore, the people of the area downstream of Baglihar Dam on both the banks are cautioned not to go near banks of the River Chenab as it may be extremely dangerous.
