JKNPP condemns bias against Jammu region | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 21: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today alleged that by announcing exclusive projects for the valley, the state industries department has neglected the Jammu region. Addressing the media persons, JKNPP Chairman and MLA Harsh Dev Singh said that the Minister for Industries ignored the demands of Jammu based industries and announced nine proposed industrial estates for Kashmir region with a view to please the Kashmiri masters. He alleged that the discriminatory treatment has been doled out to the industrial units of Jammu under the Rehabilitation Scheme’. Singh said that the government had provided incentives and soft loans to potentially revivable 66 industrial units of the state out of which only 7 belonged to Jammu region while 59 of them belonged to Kashmir region. He called for a probe into the trading subsidies availed by 15000 fake industrial units out of which 12855 availed the said facility in Kashmir region and 2992 units in Jammu region and subsequently became untraceable. Singh further assailed the functioning of Village Khadi and Industries Board which had failed to fulfill its objectives in assisting the unemployed youth.
