Crime Branch raids examination centre, arrest two impersonators

JAMMU, June 21:
Crime Branch Jammu today arrested two impersonators appearing as candidates in B Tech examination being conducted by the Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University at one of the centres set up for the purpose in Minerva Higher Secondary School, Ramgarh in district Samba.
On receiving specific information that some persons are appearing in B Tech Examination of Rajasthan Vidya Peeth University being held at Minerva Higher Secondary School, Ramgarh on behalf of the actual candidates who have applied for such examination, the police raided the premises and arrested the duo.
During the raid it was it was detected that two candidates were impersonating as they were appearing in the said examination on someone else’s behalf while the others were found indulged in mass copying and unfair means at large scale by openly using books and other material in conspiracy with the supervisory staff and management of school
During the raid it was found that most of the candidates appearing in the said examination are government employees who are serving in different engineering departments of the state. They were appearing to improve their technical qualification by illegal means intending to secure promotions in their respective departments. During raid incriminating material including admit cards, attendance sheets, answer sheets, answering scripts of question papers conducted on June 19 and 20 were seized which were lying open and were being solved by the candidates and staff members in connivance with each other.
These answer sheets were supposed to be sealed immediately after conduct of the said exam on daily basis and submitted to the University concerned. The record seized is under scrutiny.
A Case FIR No.1 41201 0 UIS 419, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120¬B-RPC rlw 2/5 Prevention of Unfair Means Examination Act was registered at Police Station Crime Branch Jammu.
