| Madan Lal lays foundation stone of community hall | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, JUNE 21: Member Parliament Jammu -Poonch Constituency. Madan Lal Sharma laid foundation stone of a new multipurpose hall of Dogri Sanstha, here on Monday. A large gathering of writes, academics, artists, prominent members of civil society and officers and staff of PWD Department were present on the occasion.
Madan Lal Sharma, who has donated funds for the construction of the hall out of his ML-LADS, said that this hall will give boost to literary and cultural activities of all languages in general and Dogri in particular. He said there is an urgent need to protect and preserve our culture heritage, language and culture, and vigorous efforts are required to further promote Dogri language and culture at all levels. He appealed to the Dogras not to ignore their traditions, culture, food and customs etc and exhorted them to use Dogri in their day-to-day conservation.
Members of the Dogri Sanstha, while welcoming the guests, disclosed that Dogri Sanstha has actually chalked out a plan of construction of modern Complex for Dogri Sanstha. They said that Sanstha plans to launch a fund raising campaign to meet the requirement of the envisaged plan.
