Maiden T20 Cricket Tournament held

Khaned (Basantgarh) June 25: First ever Twenty-Twenty Cricket Tournament was organized in Khaned area of Dudu Basantgarh Sub Division under the guidance and encouragement of Sub Divisional Magistrate Dudu Basaantgarh, Amit Sharma.
Tournament was organized at the banks of river Ujj's tributaries in the basin area of Khaned where special pitch was raised on sand base by putting 1-2 foot layers of mud and 12 teams of different areas of Sub Division, namely Little Cricket Club Lower Punnara, Cricket Club Khaned, Raichak team, Loudhra team, Kadwah team, Badnota team (Kathua), Kindly team (Kathua), Nathi team (Kathua), Cricket Club Basantgarh participated enthusiastically in this tournament which started three days back and culminated today evening in the presence of Sub Divisional Magistrate, Amit Sharma who was the Chief Guest, Mentor and prime source of inspiration behind organizing this tournament in such tough conditions. The teams of Lower Punnara and Cricket Club Basantgarh made it to the finals where the latter (Basantgarh) got better of Punnara team and beat them comprehensively by a handsome margin of 81 runs. Although the weather conditions were very dicy in the hilly terrain of Khaned area and there were very little resources at disposal of organizers, yet the tournament culminated successfully with persistent efforts and presence of top administration during the finals of the tournament.
The prizes were distributed amongst the winners by Amit Sharma, SDM in the presence of Ex-Sarpanch Khaned, Saif-ul-Din, CRPF Inspector, Safdar Rabbani, Chief Organizer, Altaf Hussain Shiekh, Committee members Mohd. Illias, Muzzaffar Iqbal, Abdul Hamid, Kewal Kumar and the lot of local youth and prominent people of nearby areas. SDM Amit Sharma lauded the efforts of all these organizers and assured the support of administration in organizing more and more such tournaments in the far flung belts of the Sub Division so as to promote the spirit of sportsmanship amongst the young buds and bringing this little known Sub Division on the sports map of the globe.
