Gurukul Vidyapeeth announces 'budget engineering' college | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 26: To facilitate the students of middle class families in providing quality education under the mission 'Education for All', Gurukul Vidyapeeth, an educational group of Chandigarh region has introduced first ever budget engineering college of the country for meritorious students who could not pursue their studies in professional institutes due to money constraints. This was announced by Deshraj Thakral, Executive Director Gurukul Vidyapeeth at a press conference here today. The concept of Budget Engineering College has been devolved by CA Manmohan Kumar Garg, Chairman, Gurukul Vidyapeeth, Thakral said. He said, 'Under this self financing scheme, the students will pay the course fee as per their capacity and Gurukul Vidyapeeth will arrange the rest of the funds through the banks, financial Institutions and charitable organizations for the students of economically weaker section and middle class families' . "The student can repay the amount after the completion of course and getting placed . And again there will be a choice for the student to either sponsor the fee of any other student or repay in installments", he added. Thakral also announced reservation of 10% seats for the students of special categories on the pattern of All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi for women category, economically weaker students, handicapped, sports person, wards of Defence personal and freedom fighter. Gurukul provides education in the course of B.Tech Engg. In Computer Science, Information Technology, Civil, Electronics and Aeronautical Engg, Diploma in Engg MBA, MCA, BBA, BCA, BSc.(IT), MSC.(IT).
