| Semis line up drawn in Martyrs' Football | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, June 26: Semifinals position has been cleared with the entry of Iqbal Sports, RCF Kapurthala and J&K Forest in the last four stages of the ongoing 12th J&K Police Martyrs' Memorial Football Tournament at Bakshi Stadium here today.
Now, in the semi-finals, J&K Police shall take on Iqbal Sports tomorrow at 3 pm at Bakshi Stadium. The second semi-final, to be played between J&K Forest and RC Kapurthala, has been scheduled for June 28 at 3 pm at the same venue.
Earlier, in the remaining quarterfinals, played today, formidable J&K Bank suffered a 0-1 defeat in the hands of J&K Forest while Iqbal Sports trounced Saffalo Club 2-0 and RCF Kapurthala registered a 1-0 win over Food and Supplies.
The loss of J&K Bank is turned out to be a major upset of the tournament, especially when beaten by a departmental team of the state.
The professional side of J&K Bank is fast losing his shine.
Earlier, in a state level tournament, the J&K Bank was beaten by `B' side of the J&K Police in the title clash last previous year.
