| 5 J&K skaters selected for Asian meet | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 26: For the first time in the history of roller skating in J&K, as many as five skaters have been selected from the state for the upcoming 14th Asian Roller Skating Championship to be held at Kaohsiung City of Chinese Taipei from July 16 to July 26. "It is for the first time that five skaters have selected for the prestigious event from the state. Now, these skaters will undergo a final round of the coaching camp before their departure for the venue," president of the J&K Roller Skating Association, G S Khurmi told.
The selected skaters are Jugraj Singh, Vinay Bakshi, Ankush Gupta, Arjun Gandotra and Divinder Pal Singh.
All these five skaters have been selected for the Indian hockey teams by the Roller Skating Federation of India (RSFI). While three named in the roller hockey squad shall be attending the camp at Faridabad while other two selected for Inline hockey team shall undergo training at Vishakapatnam from July Ist onwards.
