BJYM hails SASB for withdrawing sanitation charges | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 26: State Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has welcomed Governor N N Vohra's announcement of withdrawing non-refundable amount which has been paid by the Langar Organizations towards sanitation charges and environment protection. In a press statement issued here today, BJYM state president Munish Sharma said, "This announcement is a matter of happiness for the Yuva Morha which was protesting and raising concern over the issue of imposition of security and sanitation charges on Amarnath Yatra Langars by Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB)". "The announcement by Governor N N Vohra was the consequences of BJYM's strong protest over the issue", he claimed, adding, "The decision also provides relief to the Amarnath langar parties who are here to provide selfless service to pilgrims during yatra period". "Govt should provide facilities for Amarnath Yatra on the pattern as it provided to Hajj pilgrimage", BJYM leader demanded.
Sharma also appealed the state government to reconsider its decision of charging Rs 2000 from the vehicles carrying pilgrims for the Amarnath Yatra and withdraw the same at the earliest.
