| Decomposed bodies of old couple cremated | | |
JAMMU: The decomposed bodies of a retired Power Development Department (PDD) official and his ailing wife, which were recovered under mysterious circumstances at their residence in Trikuta Nagar, were cremated today after the autopsy.
Official sources said that autopsy was conducted by a team of doctors at the Government Medical College and Hospital and later, they handed over bodies to the family members for performing last rites here this afternoon.
Sources however, said that post mortem report is yet awaited.
"Police have been waiting for the post mortem report to ascertain the exact cause of their death," official sources said, adding "the report is likely to come tomorrow."
Police had recovered the partly decomposed bodies of an old aged couple from their residence in Trikuta Nagar on Friday.
Official sources said that Police have been working on different theories. "Police have been presuming it was a case of suicide since all the doors and windows were locked from inside the house and there was no possibility of murder," said sources.
However, the case is being investigated keeping in view all the angels by the investigating team.
