Newer strides in general surgeries by ASCOMS | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU , June 27: Dr R. K Chrungoo, renowned general and laproscoping surgeon, today while interacting with the staff and students of medical streams, said that over the past one year, the surgeons in his unit of ASCOMS had witnessed a change wherein, more than 350 cases were operated in unit-I only. Among the surgeries performed, 60 were major open procedures including Gall Bladder, Incisional Hernais, Ventral Hernias, Choledochoduodenstomy, Staplerhemoroidectomy, Gastrojejunostomies, Feeding Jejunostomies etc.. Beside these, 25 major open operations were conducted for various cancerous conditions wide variety like malignancies of whiples procedures using advanced stapling techniques and harmonic knives. In another development, 75 Laproscopic Cholecysectomy were performed using endo-knotting cliiping and for the very first time 20 surgical interventions were done for repairing Laproscoping Inguinal, Sewen Gastojejunostomy with Endosulturing, Hydated Cyst excision and Meshrectopexy etc. At the end of the session, the doctors of unit -I presented a detail report of such surgeries to the young aspiring doctors for learning and teaching purposes.
