Pahari people face discrimination: Khan | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 27: The Pahari Tribal people living in various part of the J&K state are faced discrimination from the governments which caused into power in the state form time to time, said chairman J&K Pahari culture and welfare forum, Sharafat Ali Khan at a press conference here today. Khan said, during touring the twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri he found pahari people are livening in a bad condition and till date the pending demand of S.T status which is un-necessarily being delayed. Through re-commended by the state government twice. He said that state High Court of J&K too issued direction for the redressal of this long pending dispute, but all in vain till now. Recently Sagheer commission appointed by Prime minister for India have also recommended S.T status for Pahari issues/problems the state political leadership is bent upon to divide the community by using a few pahari political leaders hand during all the elections, even when the whole Kashmir was on boycott. Paharies are united under the banner of Pahari Forum. During deliberation by all the members it was pointed out that a resolution which was passed during the state level Pahari delegate at Press Club be implemented in letter and spirit for making the Forum more active. |
