GOI succumbs to pressure of Kashmiri polity: Panun

JAMMU, June 27: Pointing towards recent revealations made by Mirwaiz Omar Farooq, Dr Farooq Abdullah and former foreign Secy. of Pakistan, Dr.Agnishekhar, Convener, Panun Kashmir today said that the GOI has succumbed to the pressure exerted by Kashmiri polity, Pakistan and America which has serious implications on the fate of the Kashmiri Pandits.
Agnishekhar was speaking at a meeting of prominent citizens of displaced KPs at Surya Bhawan, here today.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr.Agnishekhar said that issue of return of community was linked to the ultimate resolution of broader issue of Kashmir's future as the community represents Indian civilizational ethos in Kashmir.
``The policy persued by the GOI and state Govt. in particular in last 20 years has led to the marginalization of KP community, an attempt to trivialize the exodus and genocide of KP community is made by the Govt,'' he said .
Speaking on the occasion, P.L.Koul Badgami of KHC pointed towards the alarming security scenario of the valley where the Govt. has lost its grip and the separatists rule the roost. The hartals ,bandhs and attack on security forces,smashing their bunkers by organized brigade of stone pelters is order of the day.
He said that the government move of symbolic return of few hundred Kashmiri Pandits to Valley in transit camps after 20 years was not acceptable to the community.
Sudesha Koul, Chief Area Co-ordinator, Kashmira Vahini made an fervent appeal to state and central Govt. to post over 800 newly recruited female appointees at migrant schools, institutions and other migrant offices in Jammu Province.
Sanjay Raina, senior community activist maintained that it was unfortunate that the state Govt. has exploited the miseries of KP pandit unemployed youths by attaching unconstitutional and draconian conditions to the Employment Package.This is the mutilation of the employment package as demanded by PK leadership in Round Table Conference.
Expressing concern over the continued cultural genocide, Shiban Khaibri, an eminent columnist said the Govt should shun its disastrous appeasement policy in the best interests of territorial integrity and sovereignty of India in Kashmir.
Among others who spoke on the occasion included Prof.M.K.Raina, Sardar S.S.Bali,, PK Sharma, Rakesh Kak, M.L.Aash. Sanjay Dattatreya presented vote of thanks.
