Pok Refugees continue protest on demands | | | early times report JAMMU, June 29: The Jammu and Kashmir PoK Refugee Front has continued its protest dharna in front of Divisional Commissioner office, Jammu in support of their demands of comprehensive settlement. The displaced persons demanded steps to register all deserving left out cases, which have not been listed and registered of 1971 (non-camp) and 1947 (Non-camp), grant Occupancy Rights on EP land and custodian house in favour of 1965 and 1971 DPs of POK, order release of funds allotted for disbursement to 1971 (non camp) DPs from Chhamb at the rate of Rs. 25,000 per family. Other demands include directions to the Div Commissioner/ PRO, Jammu to start the process of disbursement of ex-gratia as sanctioned by the Central Govt, vide their order of August 2000, permanent settlement of refugees etc. The leaders of the front said that they have stepped up their activities and toured different areas to aware the DPs and will conducte the second of phase of court arrests soon. The Front appealed the Minister for Revenue and Relief to initiate immediate steps to solve the problems being faced by the DPs.
