PM, Sonia urged to withraw support to Omar govt | | | early times report JAMMU, June 29: Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman, National Panthers Party and Member, National Integration Council today urged the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Mrs Sonia Gandhi, the president of Indian National Congress to withdraw Congress support to the J&K Chief Minister who has lost control over the administration in J&K resulting into a total constitutional breakdown. Bhim was addressing a press conference in New Delhi. He warned the Central leaders that they must act fast in the interests of security of the country and safety of the people of J&K. Prof. Bhim Singh said that there is total collapse of the law and order machinery and intelligence network whereas the local police has failed to provide protection to the innocent people. The police has failed to defend itself also from the wrath of the agitating people in Kashmir Valley. The administration seeking protection from the CRPF has not been able to secure approval of the Chief Minister responsible for the internal security in the state. Prof. Bhim Singh said "the statement made by the Union Home Secretary does not read an iota of doubt that the CRPF in the Valley has been operating in the interest of security of the state and for restoration of harmony. The Chief Minister's allegation against the CRPF has been rejected by the Union Home Secretary and rightly so".
