6/29/2010 11:22:29 PM
early times report
Srinagar, June 29: CPI(M) State Secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami today discussed with Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra the tense situation prevailing in the Kashmir valley following massive clashes, killings and protest demonstrations.
Tarigami, who called on Vohra at Raj Bhavan, discussed wide-range of issues during their meeting, including the recent developments in the state.
The meeting assumed significance as a number of mainstream political parties, including PDP, National Panthers Party (NPP) and Awami National Conference (ANC), besides separatist organisations, have demanded dismissal of the Omar Abdullah-headed National Conference (NC) and Congress coalition government in the state.
The Kashmir valley witnessed massive clashes during the past two weeks that left five people dead and about 200 injured, a press release issued here by the CPI(M) said.
