| Woman found ‘hanging’ at home | | | JAMMU: A 35-year-old housewife was today found hanging dead under mysterious circumstances in her in-laws' house at Domana near here. The dead, whom police sources identified as Bimla Devi, was married to Ashok Kumar of Domana about 18 years back. The couple has a daughter and a son.
Ashok, who runs a dhaba at Paloura here, was stated to be not doing well for the past sometime.
Bimla's elder sister Shama Rani alleged that Ashok wanted to change the business since his dhaba was not running well. He had desired to buy a minibus and asked his in-laws to help him, she alleged.
She alleged that Ashok used to torture Bimla as his financial health had deteriorated during the past few months. She urged police to hold an indepth probe into the incident to find out the truth.
Bimla's body was found hanging from the ceiling fan hook in the morning. Police reached the spot soon after the matter came to their notice and evacuated the body to the GMC Hospital mortuary where post-mortem was conducted on it.
The body was later handed over to her family members for last rites. Police had registered a case in this connection. Ashok was likely to be detained by police for questioning, the sources added.
