PDP Youth Wing to launch signature campaign against govt
6/30/2010 10:51:26 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, June 30: To mobilize public opinion against the failure of Omar Abdullah administration on all fronts, Youth Wing of PDP has decided to launch a signature campaign from July 1. PDP activists will approach cross sections of society and educate the people about wrong policies floated and propagated by the National Conference-led government in the state. The signature campaign would continue for two days. PDP youth wing observed that Omar Abdullah-led government has failed on all fronts. During the last one and half year incidents of human rights violation have increased manifold and those at the helm of affairs have been seeing the ongoing bloodbath in the State as mute and unconcerned spectators. Instead of taking some effective steps to restore normalcy in the state, the government seems to be more concerned about issuing press statement and conducting photo session. In its 18 months tenure this coalition stands exposed as it has reneged on all promises made to the people during the assembly elections campaign. It is time to launch a massive agitation against this government. Failure of the State Government can be gauged from the fact that farmers, employees, technocrats, unemployed educated youth, students have been agitating in one way or the other but the ruling elites seems to be unconcerned towards growing unrest among different sections of society. Before elections National Conference made many tall promises regarding employment but none of these was fulfilled by Omar Abdullah-led government. The remarks were made in a press conference of the PDP Youth Wing that was addressed by Rajinder Singh (State Vice-President), Nadeem Khan (Gen. Secretary), Gurdeep Singh Pandey (State Secretary), Deepu Chib (State Secretary), Raiz Atish (Secretary) and others.
