Sudhmahadev mela concludes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Sudhmahadev, June 30: Nearly two lakh devotees visited the holly shrine of Sudhmadev at Chenani in District Udhampur during the three day-long historic mela, which concluded last evening. A large number of devotees also paid obeisance at the sacred temples of Gouri-Kund and Maantalaai. Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust Council, which has the responsibility of up-keep and management of these ancient shrines of Jammu region, had made elaborate arrangements for hassle free worshipping by devotees. The President of Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust Council, Thakur Divakar Singh deputed a team of senior Trust officers, functionaries and pujaries to facilitate the pilgrims in performing puja during three days mela. Besides, arranging free linger for devotees this year also, the Trust had made board and lodging arrangements for several government officers and officials deployed for the special duty during the festival. As usual, the Trust had arranged interesting wrestling matches for the entertainment of people coming to the mela. However, owing to heavy rains, valedictory function had to be deferred to next convenient date. Meanwhile, President of the Trust has thanked the senior civil and police officers of District Udhampur for making excellent arrangements for the festival.
