BJP takes out protest march across Jammu region

JAMMU, July 1: State BJP today took out a protest march from party headquarter to City Chowk in protest against the failure of the NC-Congress coalition government to control the situation in the valley and which is going to hinder the smooth conduct of annual Shri Amarnath Yatra.
BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas along with party MLAs Ashok Khajuria, Jugal Kishore Sharma and Ch. Sukhnandan led the march.
The protestors raised slogans against the government and also burnt the effigy of the state government at City chowk In his address, Manhas said the present violence in the valley is premeditated and was meant to obstruct the smooth conduct of annual Shri Amarnath Yatra. He said that people of the valley were already facing economic hardships on account of militancy and almost daily bandhs caused on the call of Hurriyat and other disruptive elements. He added that Hurriyat and other anti-national outfits have no concern or interest for the well being and survival of the common people of the valley. The Annual Shri Amarnath Yatra in which lakhs of people visit the valley gives big boost to the economic activity of the valley. He appealed o the people of Kashmir to get united to defeat the misleading propaganda of a handful of separatists and fundamentalists and work towards making the yatra a success. He further said that it seems that the NC-Congress coalition government is in league with Hurriyat and other like entities to defame the patriotic security forces and also demoralize them and it should be countered by one and all.
Ashok Khajuria in his address, said that the talk of curtailing the powers of the security forces is meant only to encourage and enhance the spirits and morale of divisive and anti-national forces and also demoralize and discourage the security forces who are protecting and preserving the law and order and tranquility in the state.
Sat Sharma (C.A), Usha Choudhary, Kavinder Gupta, Chander Mohan Sharma, Ramesh Arora, Surinder Sharma, Yudhvir Sethi, Shilpi Verma, Shiv Kumar Gupta, Rajesh Gupta, Sakina Bano, Rajinder Sharma, Karan Singh, Praduman Singh, Pushpa Wazir, Sunil Dogra, Arun Khosla, Sanjay Baru, Surinder Choudhary, Vijay Choudhary, Parimoksh Seth, Vipin Shastri, Surinder Choudhary, Murari Lal, Sushma Manhas, Vijay Raina and Kamla Gupta.were prominent among those who took part in the protest march.
Similar protests were also held at Samba, R.S. Pura, Udhampur, Kathua, Akhnoor and Basohli. At Samba Distt. President Keshav Dutt alongwith BJP vice-president Chander Parkash Ganga led a massive protest rally. Prof. Gharu Ram and Ch. Shyam led the protestors at R.S. Pura.
Distt. President Suraj Padha, alongwith party MLA Bharat Bhushan, SC Morcha President Chaman Lal Kanathia and Kissan Morcha President Karan Singh led the protest rally at Akhnoor.
Dina Nath Bhagat, Chaggar Singh and Ved Fanda led the protest rallies at Udhampur, Kathua and Basohli respectively.
