Govt urged to provide security to pilgrims | | | early times report JAMMU, July 1: Jammu Province People Forum (JPPF), an amalgam of more them 50 social and other organisations, appealed to the government of Jammu and Kashmir to handle the critical situation in valley, as the separatist leaders once again started playing their role to interrupt the Shri Amarnath Yatra. Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Sunil Sethi, President, Bar Association, Jammu urged the State Government to provide full security to all pilgrims who are visiting the State to pay obeisance to Lord Shiva in the holy cave. He also said that government should understand the situation under which the belt forces are forced to open fire and added that any wrong statement against the forces will hurt them which will ultimately demoralise them. The government has taken strong action against defaulters who motivated the people of Kashmir to protest, he said. "If Sopore Chalo call should have stopped, the precious lives of youths could have been saved," he mentioned and added that the actual killers are not security forces but the leaders who provoked the young blood. He said that it was high time for the people of Kashmir to understand, who was friend and who enemy. He also expressed sorrow over the killing that took place in Kashmir and said that for that only separatist leaders are responsible. He also thanked Governor of Jammu and Kashmir regarding appointment of local Vice Chancellor in Central University. He said that state as well as central government has wasted one precious year of the students of Jammu province by delaying the process of appointment of local vice chancellor for central university Jammu, in this regard he told that Kashmir is already burning and if government of India appointed anybody from outside will definitely fuel the fire in Jammu also as the people of Jammu province will not except any other person appointed as Vice Chancellor other than the local one. Others who were present on the occasion Dev Raj Baru, Ved Paaksh Sharma President Brahman Sabha, Inderjeet Khujuria, Bagat, Piran Ditta, Agnishekhar President Panun Kashmir, Rajesh Kesari, Kuldeep Luthra and Virender Gupta.
