Kashmir violence has its impact on PoK guests, only 32 arrived | | | early times report Jammu, July 1: A week-long violence in the Kashmir valley had its impact on the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) guests as only 32 people arrived in the Karvan-e-Aman bus against more than 50 during the past two weeks. Twenty residents of this side also travelled to the other side of Line of Control (LoC) to meet their relatives for the first time since 1947. Official sources said 32 guests from the PoK, including 11 women and four children, arrived at Kaman post, the last Indian military post on the LoC in Uri sector, after crossing the Aman Setu bridge on foot this afternoon. However, the number of PoK residents who arrived here was less as compared to that arrived in past two weeks. Sixty guests had arrived here on June 17 while 54 on June 24. Sources said the number of guests was less because of the week-long violence that left eight teenagers dead and over 200 others, including about 80 security personnel wounded resulting in curfew and general strike in the Valley. The sources said two men from the Valley, who had travelled to the PoK, also returned today . Similarly, 20 residents of this side, including eight women and a child, also travelled to the other side through the peace bus to meet their relatives in the PoK. Eleven residents of PoK also returned home after completing their stay in the Valley.x
