| Lecture on chronic liver diseases in children delivered | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 1: Indian Academy of Pediatrics, City Branch, Jammu and the Department of Pediatrics, Government Medical College, SMGS Hospital, Jammu organised a Continuing Medical Education (CME) on "Pediatric Gastroenterology" on June 28. Renowned Pediatric Gastroenterologist of international repute and Head of the Pediatric Gastroenterology Unit , PGIMER , Chandigarh, Prof. B.R.Thapa was the guest speaker. He delivered lectures on 'Chronic liver diseases' and 'Role of Probiotics in Pediatric Practice' in children and discussed some clinical scenarios. Prof and head of the deptt of Pediatrics, DMC Ludhiana ,Dr Parveen Sobti was the guest of honour. Both Dr Thapa and Dr Sobti hail from Jammu. Dr Rekha Harish, Professor and Head of the Deptt of Pediatrics, Govt. Medical College, Jammu and also President IAP City Branch, Jammu along with Dr D.B.Sharma Prof & Head of Dept of Pediatrics ASSCOMS chaired the session. The interactive CME was widely appreciated and attended by a large number of pediatricians from Jammu which included Senior pediatricians like Dr R.K.Goel, Ex Director Health, Dr K.B.Gupta & Dr Ashok Gupta, Ex HOD Pediatrics, Dr J.S. Jasrotia, Dr D.R.Sarmal, Dr G.S.Saini,Dr Sanjeev Digra,Dr Ashu Jamwal and Dr S.S.Salathia. Dr Sunil Dutt Sharma conducted the proceedings and Dr Deepak Kumar gave away the vote of thanks.
