| Two jawans killed in encounter with infiltrators on LoC | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 01:
Two army jawans lost their lives in a gunbattle with heavily-armed infiltrators on the Line of Control (LoC) in Machhil sector of Kupwara this morning.
The infiltration bid was, however, foiled with the intruders fleeing back to Pakistan, official sources said.
A defence spokesman said army troops guarding the border noticed a group of heavenly-armed militants trying to infiltrate into this side of the LoC in Machhil sector.
He said the security men challenged them following which a gunfight broke out.
The spokesman said the infiltrators opened fire on the troops, resulting in the death of two army jawans. |
