early times report
JAMMU, July 8 : The activist of Jammu Joint Students' Federation (JJSF) today held a protest demonstration at GCW Gandhi Nagar, J&K BOSE and Govt. MAM College , Jammu . Speaking on the occasion, Partap Singh Jamwal, State Vice President, JJSF said that every year candidates with low merits encounter with problem of admission in the colleges.
He said despite opening up of many degree colleges at district level, the students prefer city colleges as dist colleges lack proper infrastructure. He said that government should made proper arrangement for the appointment of staff in these degree colleges. Earlier in the morning, activist of JJSF gathered at GCW Gandhi Nagar where they addressed the students and held a protest demonstration against the concerned authorities.
They also demanded proper arrangement for staff and starting of all streams in these colleges. Later on the initiation of principal, leader of JJSF held thorough discussion with the authorities of the college and stressed upon them to solve the issue of the admission of the aggrieved students. Principal GCW, Gandhi Nagar assured the leader of JJSF that next select list will be issued on July 12 and on the assurance of the Principal, leaders of JJSF dispersed the gathering of the aggrieved students and told them to assemble in the college premises on July 12 so that the students who are left without admission may be admitted in the concerned colleges.
Others present included Sumit Gupta (City President), Ankur Bali, Ankit Gupta, Sahil Chowdhary, Rawat Manhas, Lovely Gupta, Atul Sudan, etc.
Meanwhile, the activists of JJSF hold a protest at JKBOSE against the delay in provisional certificate or migration to the private candidates of class 12. It is pertinent to mention here that the results of 12th class (private) was declared a month back but the board has failed to provide provisional or migration to some candidates who had passed in the exams.
Another issue of JJSF activist was that the negligence of J&KBOSE in printing of the name of one candidate on the marksheet, though the name on provisional and other documents was correct. This candidate was told by the board official to submit the fee for the correction in the mark sheet. However, JJSF leaders opposed it because there was no fault of student and board cannot put penalty on the candidate. When the activist of JJSF meet Joint Director for these two issues, they face negative attitude of Joint Director which provoked the leaders who started raising slogans against Board Administration. At MAM College, activist of JJSF led by Thakur Varinder Singh hold the protest demonstration for the negative attitude of Board administration. JJSF leader raised slogans against J&KBOSE and also burnt the effigy of Chairman J&KBOSE in front of the main gate of the college.
Other present in protest Davinder Singh, Pawan Singh, Abhimanyu Singh, Navjot Singh, Rishikesh Bhardwaj, Prithpal Singh, Vikram Partap Singh, Rohit Kumar, Varun Gupta, Rohit Wali, Gulshan Sharma etc.
