Govt land encroachers to face action: Bhalla | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 8: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla has said that coalition Government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is fully aware of problems of displaced families of 1947. Minister said this while inspecting the colony of 72 displaced families of 1947 at Chatha farm. Bhalla asked the revenue officers to streamline the settlement of land record so that the area wise land related record could be traced easily. He said that Government was making all out efforts to provide people-friendly administration to the people. He asked the people to not to encroach Government land adding that coalition Government has planned to construct over head tanks, schools, tube wells, roads and power stations in this colony. Regarding land deficiency compensation of 1947 refugees, the Minister said that Centre Government headed by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has approved Rs 49 crore package adding that instructions were issued to concerned authorities to conduct public darbars in the colonies of displaced persons of 1947 and distribute the same without any delay. A large number of people of Chatha farm and its adjoining areas met the Minister and projected the problems including maintenance of internal lanes and drains, replacement of damaged electric wires, uninterrupted power supply in metered areas and road widening from Karan Bagh to Chatha Farm. To deal with water scarcity in Greater Kailash, Bhalla said that Government has sanctioned Rs 1 crore for construction of 20000 gallon discharge capacity including laying of water supply pipes in the uncovered areas. |
