Across the counter sale of Schedule H, X drugs banned

JAMMU, July 8 : The Controller, Drugs and Food Control Organization, Jammu has banned sale of Schedule H and X drugs, except on the prescription of a Registered Medical Practitioner.
As per a notice issued by Controller, Drugs and Food Control Organization, Jammu, it is impressed upon all retail sale outlets dealing in sale of medicines that the drug substances specified in Schedule H or Schedule X shall not be sold except on and in accordance with the prescription of a Registered Medical Practitioner and in the case of substances specified in Schedule X, the prescription shall be in duplicate, one copy of which shall be retained by the licensee for a period of two years. The supply by retail of any such drugs shall be made against cash or credit memo which shall contain particulars as provided under Rule 65 to the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945. It may be noted that violators shall be booked under relevant laws for non-compliance.
