| Action against policemen an eyewash: Mufti | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, July 8: Peoples' Democratic Party patron Mufti Mohammad Syed has described the action against police officials allegedly involved in the killing of three youth at Anantnag a few days back as mere eye wash. In a press statement issued here today, Mufti Sayed said that the much trumpeted action against the policemen, who are held responsible for the killing of three youths namely Ishfaq Ahmad Khanday, Sajad-ul-Islam and Imtiyaz Ahmad Itoo is an attempt to shield the perpetrators.
He said and added it was hoped that the government would at least in this clear case of atrocity invoke appropriate law to set an example for all offenders, but in keeping with its dismal record and reputation the administration has just tried to mislead the public by nominal announcement of attachement of some police officials. |
