EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, July 8: Soon after getting green signals from the Government, a team of Crime Branch Jammu led by Inspector Ghulam Hassan Kamal conducted raid in the office of Deputy Director Employment Exchange and seized records for securitization.
The record was seized in the presence of three magistrates comprising Tehsildhar Kathua, Avtar Singh, Tehsildhar Headquarters Jatinder Misra and Naib Tehsildhar Krishan Kumar and one Additional Commissioner Revenue Dr Vikas Gupta.
Sources said that the record was seized following transfer of the case from district police Kathua to the Crime Branch. A FIR was lodged with Kathua police station by the then DC Kathua, Sarita Chouhan alleging bungling in selection process of the Class-IV employees in 2006.
The advertisements for the selection of the Class-IV employees in different government departments were issued in 2006 in which around 25000 candidates applied. A panel for the selection process headed by the then DC Kathua Sarita Chouhan with Member Secretary Inderjeet Singh besides other three members was constituted. In the selection process 186 candidates were selected but their appointment orders were not dispatched.
Sources informed that irregularities in the selection process came to limelight when some selected candidates approached to the DC office with appointment orders bearing DC Kathua's stamps. Though the then DC refused the dispatch of the appointment orders from her office but the appointment letters were wrapped in envelops of the DC office which made the DC suspicious and she lodged the complaint in the concerned police station. The Member of the Legislative Assembly Charanjeet Singh informed that the matter was also raised by him in the Assembly during last budget session. When contacted, SSP Crime Branch, Johny Williams said that the securitization of the records is in progress. "The culprits found involved in the racket would be booked soon," he maintained.
