Eight burglars held with stolen items worth lakhs | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July 9 : Eight burglars were today arrested by police from different city areas and several stolen items, including a scooter, were recovered from them. Police sources said that two youth broke into the house of one Mohan Lal Kaphai at Newplots at about 3 am today and decamped with a LML Vespa scooter, two mobiles sets and some other items. A case was registered in this regard at the Sarwao Police Post. Sources said that police came to know about the burglars when they went to a scooter mechanic shop to sell the stolen scooter. The scooter mechanic got suspicious of them when they said that they were ready to sell it for Rs 700, the sources added. The mechanic immediately informed police which reached the spot and arrested the two alleged burglars. The stolen scooter and the mobiles sets were also recovered from them. Meanwhile in the different raids conducted under the jurisdiction of the city and Pucca Danga police stations police picked up six more burglars and recovered from them stolen items worth lakhs of rupees. Sources identified one of them as Ankush Shamra of Peer- mitha. When contacted to a senior police officer he refuted to divulge the details saying it would hamper their investigation process. He however, said that several thefts had been worked out.
