Acting Workshop concludes at Natrang | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 9: Ten day Actors workshop organized by Natrang concluded here today at Natrang Studio Theatre, Jammu. The workshop was conducted by Sunita Raina a student of the final year of National School of Drama, New Delhi. The focus of the workshop was on the sharpening of the use of actor's body and voice in theatre. Speaking on the occasion, Natrang Director Balwant Thakur said that three phased workshops have been planned to be conducted in the coming days. In the second phase the concentration will be on the character analysis and the journey of an actor to a character. In the third and the final phase, an intense work on the production process will be done with the help of Internationally acclaimed theatre directors and hopefully an International class production will be the outcome of that workshop. The focus of the year of Natrang is training and workshops and the group intends to conduct five theatre workshops this year. He complimented Sunita Raina for devising the latest ways and techniques to train the new entrants in theatre and also expressed his gratitude for conducting a highly educative and meaningful workshop. The workshop has been highly successful in enthusing creative energy in young actors. The next workshop will be conducted by Ashish Nijhawan who is currently working with National School of Drama Repertory Company after graduating from the same institution in 2008. He has traveled with performances to China, South Korea and Japan. Those who successfully completed the workshop included Mohit Sharma, Mayank Bakshi, Sunil Sharma, Amarpreet Khandari, Vikram Sharma, Balwinder Singh, Karan Malhotra, , Ekta Kaul, Ishfaq Anwar, Mimansa Diwan, Niharaka Sharma, Chakshu Kotwal, Aparna Kapoor, and Archit Nanda.
