| Saroori calls on Prime Minister | | | NEW DELHI: Minister for Roads & Buildings GM Saroori today called on Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh here today.
During the meeting, Minister gave a resume of the various developmental projects in the State and sought funds for the construction of proposed Chattergalla tunnel on Bhaderwah-Bani-Basoli road which he said is a vital project to link the Lakhanpur-Bhaderwah-Anantnag circuit.
He also brought to the notice of Prime Minister the need for constructing road from Sudhmahadev to Marmat stressing that this will be an important alternate link to Doda.
Saroori said that the task forces constituted for the assessment of these projects have submitted their report to the Union Ministry of Surface Transport.
Minister also highlighted the importance of construction of tunnels on Zojilla Pass, Razdan Pass, Sadhna Pass and Kapran pass for improving road connectivity and ensuring all weather roads in the various parts of the State.
Ex- MLA Haji Abdul Rashid and Congress leader Surinder Singh Channi also accompanied the Minister.
